Big Idea – Music to My Ears

Good evening, Garrett and Travis’ awesome mom, Jan, and perhaps at most 14 other awesome people. Or perhaps I underestimate myself. I am more tired than I have been while researching, but if this project is to be taken seriously, pushing through while tired is going to be an expectation which must be established and met. Two updates in the research:
What’s the Bible Say?
This whole project, like any work for God, must be 100% founded on the support of Scripture (see 2 Tim 3:16-17). Over time I have accumulated a list of verses that speak intoon Church Unity and the Great Commission. The plan is to not only look through these verses prayerfully and diligently, but to unpack their deeper meanings in commentaries. The whole essay, or blog, or blogs, or vlog, or sermon, or however the project will eventually look I thought at some point may be structured like this…
The specific commentaries I am looking at at the moment are those in the NIV and ESV Study Bibles. In no particular order, here are verses which touch on the key topics of church unity and the Great Commission:

What does God want us, his Church, to know about how it is to be united and how we should go about telling everybody about his love for us shown through his Son? This question is to be asked in unpacking these and other verses as well as any other commentaries. More on this later.
Now that Music is Lit, Fam!
God has laid on my heart that great “2ndary Christian Lit” to support the Big Idea will be found in praise music.
